Darryl W. Perry was born and raised in
Birmingham, AL and the surrounding area; graduating from
Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1996. Darryl attended Jefferson
State Community College on a Scholarship with the Speech Team
(Forensics Team), and later on a Management Scholarship with WJSR-FM,
the college radio station, of which Darryl was Station Manager from
Summer of 1997 until he graduated in 1998.
In 1999, Darryl
moved to the small town of Stahlstown, PA (Donegal Township). In
2003, after meeting residency requirements, Darryl sought political
office for the first time, running in a two-way race for Township
Supervisor, spending only $30; Darryl received 11.2% of the vote
against incumbent Floyd G. Snyder.
In 2004, Darryl sought a
much larger office, running as the Libertarian Party candidate for
Pennsylvania State Treasurer; and spending no money, received 1.12%
of the vote in a five-person race, losing to Bob Casey, Jr.
(Democrat) who received an amazing 3.3 million votes (61.26%)
In
2005, Darryl attempted to run for Latrobe, PA City Council, but had
his petition denied by Paula Pedicone, Director of Westmoreland
County Pennsylvania Elections Bureau.
In early 2006 Darryl
moved back to Birmingham, AL and was a candidate for Mayor of
Birmingham in 2007, finishing 8th in a 10 person race.
Darryl is a write-in candidate for US Senate in 2008.
Darryl is campaigning for President in 2016.
